When you give to SSP by donating to the SSP Advancement Fund, you're providing support and inspiration to the next generation of sensory science professionals.
SSP welcomes donations in honor or in memory of individuals and/or organizations.
SSP is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, qualified to accept tax-deductible contributions during donor lifetime or bequests by will. Donations may be tax deductible. Consult your tax advisor on how the current law applies to you.

Emerging Professionals Scholarship Fund
This fund is dedicated to promoting the education and career progression of emerging sensory professionals with three or fewer years of experience in the field (students not eligible). With a focus on fostering diversity and inclusion, the scholarship fund provides travel support to assist SSP members attendance at the SSP Conference or other SSP events, ensuring a direct impact on the growth and sustainability of the sensory professional community.

Applicant Eligibility Requirements
- Current SSP Professional Member with three or fewer years of experience in the field (SSP Student members are not eligible)
- Only travel to an SSP event or SSP Conference will be considered.
General Scholarship Terms
Scholarship recipients are required to contribute back to SSP as part of the scholarship terms. This could include submitting a brief article to the SSP Newsletter describing their experience and/or posting two social media posts during the SSP Conference sharing what they learned.
All the donated funds and investment income may be distributed.
Scholarship values may vary across recipients.
SSP members may only receive one scholarship per year.
Long Term Success Fund
This fund is designed to fortify SSP's mission beyond the constraints of annual budgets and membership dues. This fund is dedicated to enabling the future success and longevity of SSP, supporting the society’s goal of advancing the science of sensory evaluation. The fund ensures that SSP can navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and maintain its commitment to fostering knowledge exchange, idea sharing, and education within the sensory professional community. Through prudent stewardship, the Long Term Success Fund seeks to safeguard the enduring impact and influence of SSP for generations to come.

General Terms
Only investment income can be distributed.
The Long Term Success Fund is to be fully funded at $20,000 before $1,000 distributions can be consideredd. The $20,000 principle allows for a 4-5% distribution rate.
If sufficient funds are not generated within six years to allow for distributions of at least $1,000, the SSP Executive Committee will review and vote on whether to continue to solicit the Long Term Success Fund or transfer the fund balance to the Emerging Professionals Scholarship Fund.
