The pandemic of 2020 forced sensory and consumer science to adapt to a new, decentralized world. Through this adaption, the sensory field achieved an accelerated rate of progress that forever changed it for the better. This year, we are celebrating the diversity of technologies, opinions, cultures, and methodologies that has allowed sensory and consumer science to thrive under adverse conditions. At the 2022 SSP Conference, we will look forward to a brighter future as we emerge from this difficult time stronger than ever.
Our theme—Surviving to Thriving: Sensory Opportunity in a Decentralized Age—unites the conference program around the distributed nature of our industry and brings together the sensory professional profession with the allied industries of tech, psychology, academia, and UX. The principles from this diverse set of practices are ripe for adaptation and inclusion in field of sensory science.
