Committees

All society committees are listed below.  In addition to a short description of the role each committee plays in the society, a hyperlink is provided to the current members of the associated committee.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is the governing board of the society, and consists of nine elected officers with voting rights and appointed positions who are non-voting committee members.  (Executive committee members.)

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee provides programs that foster contact with members and communicate with new members, provides communications about SSP programs, social events and the conference, and handles all media affairs for the SSP.  (Communication members.)

Conference Committee

The Conference Committee organizes the conference program of presentations, symposia, workshops and social events.  (Conference committee members.)

Wiki Steering Committee

The Wiki Steering Committee provides support and promotion of the SSP sensory science wiki.  The steering committee is not responsible for wiki content as that area falls to the Wiki Editorial Board.  (Wiki steering committee members.)

Scientific Committee

Scientific Committee has responsibility for the scientific program at SSP conferences, and provides advice and guidance for workshops, symposia, or other technical events sponsored or jointly sponsored by SSP.  (Scientific committee members.)

Strategic Planning Committee

The Strategic Planning Committee provides guidance for future activities of the society.  For additional information about the committee’s goals and its members please visit the Strategic Planning committee page.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee develops and presents the slate of candidates for all elected positions. (Nominating committee members.)

Tellers Committee

The Tellers Committee is responsible for overseeing the election of new officers. (Tellers committee members.)

Auditing Committee

The Auditing Committee reviews and certifies the correctness of the Annual Financial Report and the records of the Treasurer.  (Auditing committee members.)

Membership Committee

The Membership Committee develops and executes, or supervise the execution of, promotional plans to build the membership of the SSP.  (Membership committee members.)
