How do I register to attend the Society of Sensory Professionals Meeting?

Registration is done through the conference registration page. Please note to get the membership discount, you must first be a society member and logged into the web site before you register for the conference!

Can our admin register multiple people?

Yes — just have the credit card holder use the multiple registration page. The person will need to know the names and email addresses of all attendees, as well as their menu selections.

When should I register?

Please register for SSP as soon as you know that you can attend and before August 1st to receive the early registration discount. This year, the conference is limited to the first 350 attendees and given the program, venue, and location, it is expected to sell out.

What about registration at the conference (time & location)?

Registration closes either when the venue is fully booked or on October 15th, whichever is sooner. There is no on-site registration. Registered attendees can get their conference packet starting at 9:00 am the morning of the conference, October 27th, 2010. The conference begins promptly at 12:00 pm, with a complimentary wine country welcome luncheon for all attendees. The conference ends at noon on Friday, October 29th.

I am not sure if I attend SSP. Can I register now and then cancel later?

If you are unsure that you can attend, please do not register. There will be a 50% cancellation fee until October 1st, after which no refunds will be provided due to contracts with the hotel and catering services. And, when the conference becomes fully booked, you will prevent someone else from attending.

What are the local hotels?

Given below is a Napa area web site that lists local hotels and a PDF that shows the location of some of these hotels. The conference also has a limited number of "overflow" rooms available at the Hilton Garden Inn-Napa, 3585 Solano Ave, Napa, CA, (707) 252-0444, which is labeled as hotel number two (2) in the PDF. The group code for the SSP conference rate at the Hilton is SOSP2; the rooms are only available until September 23.

What are the local airports and how do I get to the hotel?

The Marriott Hotel & Spa in Napa Valley is approximately 70 miles from three major San Francisco Bay area airports, Sacramento (SMF), San Francisco (SFO), or Oakland (OAK). You will either need to rent a car, ride share, or contact a local shuttle service for your transportation needs (search San Francisco Bay Area Shuttles) - http://www.bayareashuttles.net/
